Details about PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene (or PTFE, which sometimes also stands for polytetrafluoroethene) is an unbranched, linearly structured, partly crystalline polymer of fluorine and carbon. This plastic is often referred to by the DuPont’s trade name ‘Teflon’. Other commonly used trade names of other manufacturers of PTFE are Dyneon PTFE (formerly Hostaflon) and Gore-Tex for PTFE membranes.
